Single-Use Cardboard Belongs in a Museum – The Future of Retail is Circular!
How GoodsTag, Integritag/All4Labels, and the Schoeller Group are transforming conventional transport packaging into intelligent, digital assets with the "ReDiPack" system.
The Logistics Revolution at the "House of Circularity"
On September 30th, the Schoeller Group officially opened the doors to its new "House of Circularity" in Pullach. By bringing the Schoeller Ventures companies Multiloop, ReDi Pack, and Smart Container Loop together under one roof, the group has created a powerhouse for sustainable innovation. The opening event, which included keynotes from Martin Schoeller and COO Jens Wegmann, underscored a crucial reality of today's market: a successful green transformation requires innovative entrepreneurial concepts that are not just ecologically sound, but also economically viable.
This principle applies just as much to the energy transition as it does to the circular economy. At the very heart of the new location is the "Circularity Lab"—a space where these concepts become tangible. It is exactly here that a true logistics revolution is taking shape in the form of ReDiPack (Returnable Display Packaging), a system explicitly designed to replace conventional, single-use transport cartons once and for all.
Redefining Transport: What Makes ReDiPack Stand Out?
ReDiPack is more than just a box, it is a highly engineered solution that perfectly balances maximum resource conservation with peak operational efficiency.
- Massive Waste Reduction: Built for longevity, a single ReDiPack box made from 100% recyclable polypropylene (PP) can replace an average of up to 30 conventional single-use cardboard cartons over its lifespan.
- Significant Ecological Impact: By keeping materials in continuous use, this circular system saves up to 85% of CO2 emissions per life cycle compared to traditional packaging methods.
- Smart, Robust, and Ready to Scale: Designed for the realities of modern retail and logistics, the boxes are waterproof, highly durable, and ergonomically foldable. Most importantly, they are fully automatable, seamlessly integrating into existing, high-speed production and sorting lines without requiring costly retrofits.

Bridging the Gap Between the Physical and Digital Worlds
In a modern, data-driven supply chain, robust hardware is only half the equation. To unlock the full potential of reusable systems and prevent costly asset loss, packaging needs to be smart.
This is where GoodsTag steps in. In close collaboration with the expert teams at INTEGRITAG / All4Labels and Schoeller Allibert, we have equipped the physical ReDiPack units with cutting-edge digital intelligence.
By seamlessly integrating RFID and QR technology during the manufacturing process, every single box is transformed into a unique, trackable "Connected Asset." The GoodsTag platform acts as the vital link, connecting this physical hardware to its corresponding Digital Twin in the cloud. The result is transformative: packaging is no longer a silent, passive load carrier. Instead, it communicates its status, location, and lifecycle history in real-time.
Going Beyond Compliance: Turning Packaging into a Value Driver
The regulatory landscape is shifting rapidly. With the implementation of the European Union's PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) and the ESPR/DPP (Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation / Digital Product Passport), strict circularity mandates are becoming the new standard.
However, the digitized ReDiPack solution goes far beyond mere compliance. By providing end-to-end visibility of every single container, we turn a traditional cost center into a driver of supply chain efficiency. Companies leveraging this technology benefit from:
- Maximized Asset Utilization: Knowing exactly where your containers are prevents hoarding and optimizes cycle times.
- Drastic Reduction in Shrinkage: The digital twin acts as a safeguard against the loss and theft that typically plague anonymous reusable packaging pools.
- Actionable Data Insights: Full transparency enables continuous process optimization from the manufacturer all the way to the retail floor.
Sustainability and Economic Efficiency Are Two Sides of the Same Coin
Bringing a vision of this magnitude to life requires strong partnerships. We want to extend a huge thank you to the brilliant minds behind this project: Leopold Schoeller and Andreas Suck (Schoeller Group), as well as Alexander Besler, Raik Kube, and Thorsten Wischnewski (Integritag/All4Labels).
Together, we are proving that large-scale reusable systems in international retail are not just a theoretical concept, they are highly feasible, scalable, and profitable today.
